RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hank (Henry) Klassen has decided to retire and put away his sliderule (and his laptop). While we’re happy for him, we will very much miss his experienced hand here at Quartek.

The last 32 years of Hank’s civil engineering career have been at Quartek (including its past incarnations as F. J. Reinders & Associated Niagara and MPS Reinders).

Hank has taken on every challenge presented and has consistently responded with reliable engineering solutions. For many years, he has provided stable leadership for our civil/municipal engineering team and exemplified quiet integrity.

We trust that you will join with Quartek’s ownership and staff as we wish Hank and his wife Selma all the best as they enjoy family, camping and other pastimes that retirement will afford. While we will greatly miss his many contributions, we expect to see him from time to time, and will periodically call on his experience and expertise.

RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT September 2, 2021

It is with best wishes (and some reluctance😉) from the ownership, directors and all staff at Quartek, that we announce that Norman Ocampo, Director of Architecture, is retired from full-time practice. His distinguished career has included almost 21 years here at Quartek as designer, project architect, project manager, shareholder, mentor and leader. Norm has consistently provided stable, yet passionate, leadership for the architectural team and the company as a whole, frequently challenging us all with ways to grow as individuals and as a team.

We trust that Niagara’s architectural design and construction communities, along with Norm’s many clients and other contacts, will join with us as we wish Norm all the best as he enters retirement, and as he pursues new interests and pastimes. While we will greatly miss his many contributions, he has promised not to be a stranger and to continue to contribute as a valuable resource for periodic consultation and assistance with strategic initiatives.

Meanwhile, our experienced and diverse team of professionals and technical staff continues to be ready, willing and able to follow Norm’s lead in providing first class building design and project management results.

Quartek Group Inc. is seeking a well organized and self motivated ELECTRICAL ENGINEER to join our growing team in St. Catharines, Ontario. Quartek is a vibrant and growing business delivering engineering, architectural, planning and project management solutions on a variety of residential, commercial, institutional and industrial projects. 

The successful candidate should be familiar with electrical engineering design for a variety of commercial, residential and institutional projects and have complete understanding of electrical engineering requirements for building design. As a member of the Quartek team, this candidate will provide passion for electrical building services design, be able to prioritize and schedule tasks, and manage projects. The role requires the ability to build strong direct rapport with our clients while assuming responsibility for the delivery of accurate, complete, high-quality work. This candidate will report to the Building Engineering Services Manager.

OFFICE NOTICE October 5, 2020

The Quartek Group office is open by appointment only. We will continue to assist and answer queries by phone and email, whenever possible. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact the office at 905-984-8676. Upon entry to the office for your appointment, you will be required to complete a health check, sanitize your hands and wear a mask. We have set up the office to accommodate all physical distancing requirements.

Office Temporarily Closed June 24, 2020

Quartek has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and continues to observe Health Canada’s recommendations.  Our first priority is the continued safety of our employees and our clients.  Public health officials continue to advise that social distancing is the most effective strategy to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  As such, our Quartek office will be closed to all outside visitors including client walk-ins until further notice.

COVID-19 March 16, 2020

Over the past few weeks, Quartek Group has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation, ensuring we are prepared and able to provide a necessary and sensible response to evolving developments and prioritizing the safety and welfare of our employees, and clients.

We continue to follow what we understand to be the latest guidance from the World Health Organization, the Public Health Agency of Canada, the federal and provincial governments, the Niagara Region Health Services.

In a step to protect the health and safety of our staff, partners and clients, Quartek Group is closing our office to anyone other than our employees as of 5pm today, and any employees who are able to will be working remotely until further notice.

We are committed to our employees and to you and this should not impact our service levels to our valued clients. We are confident we have the appropriate tools and processes in place to cope with the challenges we may face in the coming months as a result of COVID-19.

Our staff will continue to be available via email Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to serve our clients and partners. We will continue to share information with you as this situation evolves and will keep our staff, clients and partners updated through our website and emails.

State of the Company Lunch December 6, 2019

This year’s ‘State of the Company’ lunch will be on Wednesday, December 18th, 12 – 1:30pm.  Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. This event is open to all staff.

This will be an opportunity for all staff to catch up on how the past year has gone at Quartek, including key projects for various disciplines, staff ‘happenings’ and service awards, our community and charitable involvement, vision for growth, etc.
