It is with heavy hearts that we pass along news of the death of our colleague, David Piersma, on June 8, 2018.  Needless to say, we will all miss him more than words can express. Our deepest condolences to his wife Emily and their families.  A bright new talent in our electrical engineering department, he was not just our co-worker but a member of the Quartek family.

Passed away, surrounded by his family and best friends at Juravinski Hospital, on Friday, June 8, 2018, at the age of 28. Loving husband and best friend of Emily Palamar-Piersma. Beloved son of Peter and Janet Piersma. Dear brother of Danae Piersma and Adam Piersma. Much loved son-in-law of Bill and Laurie Palamar and brother in-law of Christian Palamar. Dave will be greatly missed by his numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and many friends.

Dave was passionate about his new career as an electrical engineer with Quartek Group in St.Catharines. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage, working on his car, snowboarding, playing video games and board games, and watching movies with his wife.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1:00pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dave can be made to the Melanoma Network of Canada or the Princess Margaret Melanoma Research (Dr.Butler).
