Year 200613th Street Culvert at 18 Mile Creek

Clients: Town of Lincoln
Location: 13th Street Culvert at 18 Mile Creek
Scope of Work: Civil Engineering
Area: 253 sq.ft. (23.5 sq. metres)
Budget: $200,000
Completion: 2006

As part of the Town of Lincoln’s maintenance and replacement program this 23.5 metre long, 5.6 metre wide x 3.6 metre high, elliptical corrugated steel pipe culvert (CSP) was replaced under 13th Street between Red Maple Drive and Honsberger Road in the Town’s east side.

CSP multi-plate technology was used for this project and the culvert was assembled on site and lowered into place using a 300 tonne mobile crane.

Quartek Group Inc. provided design, cost opinions and specifications, secured Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority’s approval for the replacement and carried out contract administration services and site review.

Construction was carried out during winter months so as to avoid conflict with fresh fruit farming operations and meet fisheries’ timing “window” restrictions.

The major structure was completed in February 2007 and reinstatements were complete in the spring of 2007
