World Town Planning Day

November 8th is the annual celebration of World Town Planning Day. Every year, planners around the world engage in activities on or around November 8th to raise awareness of the importance of planning in their communities.

Planners in about 30 countries mark this day by talking to community or student groups, or sponsoring activities that highlight the importance of planning. This year the theme around World Town Planning Day is ‘Equality in the City: Making Cities Socially Cohesive’. On November 5, 6 & 7 professional planning organizations around the world will mark World Town Planning Day 2014 with an international online conference based on this theme.
