Quartek Group Inc. is seeking a Technologist in the Architectural Discipline to assist in developing architectural design services and solutions. Quartek Group is a design collaborative composing exceptional solutions through the integration of Architectural, Engineering, Planning and Project Management services. In this role you will be working closely with several architects, engineers, planners and technologists on various projects as part of our Architectural team.
Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of codes, standards and construction technology to solve specific design problems and implement solutions.
- Determine survey requirements for existing building conditions and plan effective gathering of information of existing measurements, equipment and services.
- Responsible for accuracy and completeness of information.
- Develop drawings from rough architectural sketches.
- Apply principles to unique drawing details.
- Display a sound knowledge of architectural systems.
- Contribute to regulatory application procedures.
- Produce, analyze and advise on detailed specifications for suitable materials.
- Review of shop drawings related to the fabrication of construction elements for accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experiencein an Architectural office;
- Knowledge of architectural and engineering principles, methods and practices;
- Exceptional drafting skills in AutoCAD;
- Proven ability to model and detail in Revit;
- Comprehensive knowledge of design, specifications, construction and contracting techniques;
- Familiarity with construction related standards;
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities, to be flexible and shift priorities as needed to deal with demands of changing conditions;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills;
- Ability to analyze issues of various complexity and identify appropriate courses of action, using sound judgment and well developed problem solving skills;
- Completion of a Diploma in Architectural Technology, and/or registered or eligible for registration with OAAAS/OACETT would be considered an asset.
- LEED accreditationwould be considered an asset.
