The project consisted of the design of a new Leachate Treatment Facility in Moose Creek, Ontario, for the Infrastructure, Development & Management division of Walker Industries.
Walker Industries, among many interests, specializes in Landfill Operations.
Walker Industries selected Quartek as their consultant due to their multi-discipline capabilities.
Quartek Group Inc. completed architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services in a design-build contract. The design featured complex foundation design due to the landfill site it was founded on and the high seismic zone. As well, electrical and mechanical designs were complicated due to the explosive environment of the plant.
The 6,000 sq.ft. facility was completed on schedule and on budget with winter construction necessary.
