Quartek delivered comprehensive architectural and engineering services for the expansion and renovation of Richmond Street Public School. This project entailed a 6,700-square-foot extension, accommodating four kindergarten classrooms complete with washrooms, cubbies, and a dedicated outdoor playground. Additionally, three existing classrooms and the corridor connecting to the new extension were refurbished.

The scope of work extended beyond the building itself, encompassing the expansion of the current parking area to the west and the creation of a new parking zone for the kindergarten addition. Modern materials and high ceilings were employed in the classrooms to foster a soft, warm, and welcoming environment for the children. Luxury vinyl tile, chosen for its superior sound absorption and varied finish patterns, replaced the traditional vinyl composite tile to enhance the aesthetic and acoustic quality of the rooms. In the vestibule areas, durable porcelain tile was installed.

The new addition also featured individual HVAC units for each room, a sprinkler system to accommodate the expanded area, and new LED lighting fixtures. The rear playground was restored, and access from the parking lots was improved, completing the comprehensive upgrade.
